Mission
Water transport, responsible for approximately 90% of global trade, plays a pivotal role in fostering economic prosperity. However, this critical industry faces a significant environmental challenge. In 2020, the global shipping sector emitted a staggering 1.4 billion tons of carbon dioxide, accounting for nearly 3% of the world's total emissions. Without substantial action, it is projected that by 2050, annual emissions from shipping could rise to 18% of the planet's total.
To address this pressing issue, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is applying increasing regulatory pressure on the maritime industry to embrace innovative technologies aimed at reducing emissions. For example, the 2023 IMO GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Strategy targets a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions per transport work by at least 40% by 2030.
Meeting such targets requires optimizing vessel performance from design to operations. Decisions made during the design phase influence how long something lasts, what materials are used, whether it can be repaired, and its end-of-life impact. In fact, 80% of a product's environmental impact is determined at the design stage, making it the best opportunity to influence a ship’s environmental footprint. Fuel consumption, transport efficiency, and safety during the vessel's service life are also determined at this stage. Experienced shipbuilders understand that design and engineering decisions affect 85% of total construction costs and approximately 90% of vessel performance.
The maritime industry is often considered conservative compared to other transportation sectors (such as cars and airplanes), and its existing practices are not suited to develop revolutionary design tools. This limitation often results in designs closely adhering to existing models, offering little innovation.
Our strategic mission is to provide the industry with state-of-the-art, generative design tools that empower designers and engineers to explore diverse design spaces and develop the most innovative solutions. Leveraging cutting-edge quantum architecture and high-performance computing, we significantly accelerate the design process while enabling an interactive Human-AI collaborative paradigm. This approach allows both human designers and AI agents to complement each other, with each playing to their strengths, fostering optimal collaboration.
At the forefront of this mission is our groundbreaking tool, NeuralShipper™, the world’s first Generative AI-powered solution. Developed to design, simulate, and optimize various maritime assets—such as hull forms, propellers, hydrofoils, and new devices—NeuralShipper™ has been proven to dramatically reduce design cycle time while delivering high-performing, novel designs.
Our AI-powered tools enable customers to make design, manufacturing, and operational processes 10 times cheaper, 20 times faster, and 50 times more efficient.
